72 cell solar panels have more photovoltaic cells therefore they are larger than 60 cell panels. Since 72 cell modules have 12 more cells they are thus larger by about a foot. Now it is possible to use 60 cell panels on off grid systems. Traditionally 72 cell panels are used for commercial while 60 cell modules are used for residential projects but we see many residential projects with 72 cell modules so don t let that be the primary deciding factor.

Most 72 cell panels still weigh less than the 50 lb restriction set by osha so can be carried by one person although their size can make it awkward to handle alone.
